• How much does tree removal cost in Adelaide? +

  A small tree (under 5m, easy access) typically runs $250–$600. Medium trees are $600–$1,200. Large gums or trees with restricted access can be $1,200–$4,000+. Stump grinding is usually quoted separately at $100–$350. We give a written quote before any work starts.

• Do I need council approval to remove a tree? +

  In most Adelaide councils, yes — if the trunk is 1m circumference or more (measured 1m above ground), it's a regulated tree under the SA Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act. Trees within 3m of an existing dwelling or in-ground pool on the same property are generally exempt — except eucalyptus, corymbia, willow myrtle and angophora — and some exotic species are exempt altogether. We handle the application paperwork as part of the job.

• What should I ask any tree contractor before they start? +
